State of the art

No scientific project arises from nothing. Below we indicate fundamental antecedents for LATILMA. In most cases, these are studies, projects and publications that have dedicated themselves to migrant writing in Italy in general, without limiting the field to communities from Latin America. Without wanting to be exhaustive, below are the links to their official pages.


CONCORSO LETTERARIO NAZIONALE LINGUA MADRE

The competition actively collaborates with LATILMA, having participated in the seminar held at Sapienza, University of Rome - SEAI Department, in October 2023, and having granted us the publication (see Anthology) of various stories presented and/or awarded over the years . Active since 2005, starting from an initiative of the Turin Book Fair and the Piedmont Region, it was created by Daniela Finocchi.

MARIA ROSSI

She is the author of two important research works dedicated to the Latin American presence in Italy. Napoli, barrio latino. Migrazioni latinoamericane a Napoli (2011) and Parole di frontiera. Autori latinoamericani in Italia (2014), both published by Arcoiris. Maria Rossi was a pioneer of studies on the topic and represents a fundamental reference for LATILMA.
Maria Rossi has a PhD in Cultures of Iberian and Ibero-American speaking countries. She worked on Latin American migrations, migrant writings, Ecuadorian literature. She published articles in national and international magazines and, in addition to the texts already mentioned, she edited the translation of Storia di una indocumentata by Ilka Oliva Corado and In attesa del giorno by Juan Valdano. From 2015 to 2022 she was part of the editorial team of the online magazine La macchina sognante. Contenitore di scrittura dal mondo.
