Instituto Riva-Aguero Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú
The Riva-Agüero Institute, created on 18 May 1947 in honour and memory of Don José de la Riva-Agüero y Osma, is an academic unit of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) dedicated to the research and dissemination of humanistic disciplines and Peruvian culture, in accordance with the university's Statutes. In 1953 the Holy See granted the Institute the category of School of Higher Studies of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. 
The Institute is composed of professors and researchers with a special interest in the following areas: Archaeology, History and Art, Literature and Linguistics, Philosophy, Cultural Anthropology and Law.
The Institute also includes four academic service units: Historical Archive of Riva Agüero; Library; Josefina Ramos de Cox Archaeological Museum; Museum of Art and Popular Traditions.
The Institute aims to be the academic unit of the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) dedicated to the research and dissemination of humanistic disciplines and Peruvian culture to help provide answers to the serious problems of our time from an interdisciplinary perspective. 
Its mission is, therefore, to stimulate the vocation of teachers and students for research and studies in the humanities and to integrate the cultural and professional training of its members based on the work of interdisciplinary research groups and on continuing education activities and academic events.
The Riva-Agüero Institute is an Associate Partner of the LATILMA project.
