Emily Patricia Valencia Crespin (EMPAT) was born in November 1994, has Ecuadorian origins and lives in Milan, a city where, as she says, "concepts such as ambition, speed and competition prevail; a city where it can seem difficult to stop and observe the important moments". She captures sensations, impressions or memories in her imagination and expresses them in the artistic form that her instincts suggest at that moment, as long as they take a form. "My sketches," she says, "(that's what I like to call them, always) are my outburst; a tacit, opportune and obvious eroticism that reigns supreme in my imagination." Her stage name EMPAT was born from a combination of the wordplay of her two names and empathy, which she is still not sure she has.
