Fabiola Yvonne Chávez Hualpa is a Peruvian anthropologist. She graduated in History and Religious Studies at La Sapienza University and won two research grants from the Italian government and one from the Spanish government. She has taught Introduction to Social Sciences at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. Her topics of interest include: Andean female shamanism in Peru; ethnohistory; cultural anthropology; beliefs around the life cycle of Andean women; popular traditions. Her publications have appeared in various scientific journals: "Dimensión Antropológica" (Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia. INHA, México, D.F.), "Seminario de Estudios Andinos" (Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos, Peru); "Anthropológica" (Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú), "Fundación Joaquín Díaz" (Spain). She is co-author of two studies dedicated to local traditions (Rieti, Italy) and author of the book Le donne nel mondo rurale della Valnerina. She enjoys crocheting, macramé and playing the piano.
