Maria Felicita Castillo Castillo (Ecuador)

Maria Felicita Castillo Castillo was born in 1960 in Chone, Ecuador, where she graduated as a commercial secretary and lived until her forties. In 2001, she moved to Italy. She lives in Ceva, in the province of Cuneo, where she works as a family helper. In 2020, she won the Special Popular Jury Prize of the 15th edition of the National Literary Contest “Lingua Madre” with the short story Un paese col nome di donna. She is currently writing a book on the stories of her great-grandmother Alberta, who worked in the slave mines in the Colombian Pacific forest.
